The bus station was a nice 10 minute walk from our hotel. We stopped for breakfast of croissants and coffee on the way. My coffee cup was 2 inches tall and 1 inch wide!! We found our bus easily, but unfortunately Liz became ill before we left Madrid. She then slept most of the 4 hour trip to León. Thank goodness for GPS as I don’t know if we could have found the Albergue on our own. Upon arriving Liz became ill again so she spent most of the afternoon napping. She did spend some time sitting in the Plaza Santa Maria del Camino. We had hoped to attend sung Vespers at 7 in the Iglesias Santa Maria but they were having a choir practice of some type. We did get to see the church which was absolutely beautiful. We ended the night with the “pilgrims meal,” a 3 course meal complete with wine. Yes, Liz did partake. It’s now 9:30 so going to sleep so Liz will get up at 6!!
